Flu or Swine Flu

-I forgot to share something with yall...
In our last few days of our vacation. Daniel started coughing, we (I) was afraid of us getting sick, specially getting the swine flu, seems like the majority of my friends from Utah got this flu so I was afraid that we were going to get sick while our visit in Utah. We took Daniel to the ER and doc told us that it could be swine flu and that they don't do the test anymore to find out about which flu is it anyways... we went back home, Daniel had fever it was sad that because of this "cough" he didn't have TONS of fun in Halloween, but still we visited my sister and her family. Daniel got some candy- which he is still eating from...
Then Leah started coughing and breathing kind of fast, really high fever... 103.4 and she wouldn't drink anything. We took her to Children Primary Hospital in SLC... the doc said that he was sure it was the swine flu... Leah also has asthma so we needed to be careful with her because of her asthma problems. Doc said to keep giving her medicine and it should go away... it was time to drive home... but it was good until we got home... I started feeling like... a "pig:" :). I am sure I also got the swine flu. It was hard for me because I haven't had any asthma problems for a long time but this time it was bad. I felt really sick... no fever, just cough and I had to use my inhaler kinda often. Joshua had some symptoms but some how-- oh wait I know... with TONS of vitamin C, he didn't get as sick as the rest did. Now we all feel little better but I wanted to share our experience about the "swine flu". It isn't as bad as people think it is. Of course it can get worse but if you take care of yourself, TONS of chicken soup! you will be fine... also as long as you keep drinking tons of water and keep your fever down- if you have fever, you will be fine!. I was afraid, oh heck yes! but for sure we survived this one!
Here is a picture of us in our swine flu season...

Rule of Life # 54: If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You have another chance!

SPECIAL SORRY to my dad... we got him sick while we're there. Hope you're feeling better daddy!

"Dear Santa"

Daniel: "Mom. Am I being a good boy this year?"
Me: " For the most part, yes"
Daniel: "That means I get to write a letter to Santa to tell him what I want?"
Me: "Who is Santa"
Daniel: "The big guy with the white beard that gets gets stuck in the chimney and after he leaves the presents he eats the cookies and the milk"

After Josh got home from work we decided to take the kids to the store- I personally love this store the most :) ToysRUs-BabyRUs. Once we got there, Daniel's eyes were going crazy, trying to look everything he could. He wanted to go here and there and everywhere. He wanted us to buy him the whole store... so we told him that the store belongs to Santa, that Santa has this store so we can come here and look at what we want for Christmas and if we are good Santa gives it to us.- For the most past he believed it, I was impressed he did, he is one smart kid.
Finally he found what he wanted, a HUGE dinosaur, for some reason he likes dinosaurs, he could easy name them all.
For Leah since she is a "baby", mommy and daddy picked 2 things and let Leah decided. We showed her the stuff at the same time and she picked "Dora". She likes Dora, she dances with Dora, she plays with Dora.
After we knew what the kids wanted for Christmas we headed to Wally World, of course Daniel wasn't happy, he kept asking how many more days until Christmas and were where the things twe just picked up... and Josh asked him: "What's Christmas?" Daniel said: "Jesus birthday, but we get the presents for him". He is pretty excited about Christmas, we all are. This is going to be a nice Christmas for us. Stay home, relaxing, enjoying ourselves, eating yummy food!. We bought our Christmas tree. We are just talking, some of us want to put it up already, make this house (inside) look like Christmas already... some of us said: "it is too early still", so we don't know, maybe one of this days the tree will be up and we will be singing Christmas music :):):)
Daniel started his letter to Santa, he is learning how to write his name, he does wonderful, but this time he wanted to write a little note to Santa, he drew the picture of the toy he wanted. We also decide to make a paper chain to help him count how many days until Christmas.
Enjoy the pictures of our cute, silly kids.

Beautiful Leah!

Daniel is doing really good with his letters! He is one smart kiddo and he loves to draw/paint. He is good at it!

Boo Night!

This year we all decided to dress up. We got something different!... really different!. Daniel got sick 3 days before Halloween so we thought that maybe we're not be able to go to Trick or Treating this year. My sister Becca called us and invited us to have dinner at her house and then let the kids go trick or treating... we told Becca that Daniel was coughing and she said: "No problem, my kids are excited about you all coming". When we told Daniel we were going he smiled big, he was so happy!- poor kid after being in the house this whole time...
We had so much fun at my sister's house. She made "Arroz Tapado" (Peruvian food) so yummy!!!!
It was dark enough to go so we all went trick or treating... well not everybody, Becca, mom and dad stayed at home :)
After walking for 2 blocks we got really cold... but that didn't stop us to go out and knock on doors, Daniel kept singing: "Trick or Treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat". It was so cute!... and funny too, if nobody opened a door Daniel said: "This house is boring, no treats". This year our son had a blast, even tho he was little sick he didn't mind of the cold weather and he was wearing a mask so he wasn't sharing germs :);) with anybody.
Leah had a great time too. She got a lot of candy- she is just a sweet pumpkin- Joshua helped her- so the candy is more for daddy than for her :) - he is one sweet tooth guy- for him Halloween should be---- it is all year long!
I took pictures of the kids, we just a great cold Boo Night!... we wonder where our next Boo Night is going to be? we shall see!

Joshua is a Woopie Cushion- go figured!!! :):) Sara is a Prisoner... it goes well with our trip to Utah... "mommy are you going to jail?" Leah is a the sweetest pumpkin of the night and Daniel is the HULK!!!!
What do skeletons say before they begin dining?
Bone appetite!

My nephews- Joseph and Ethan were the death.... Boo!!!

Say BOO!!!!! Daniel and his cousins ready for some C-A-N-D-Y!

Trick or Treat!
The kids had so much fun!

Joshua found another Woopie Cushion... ha ha...

Josh and Sara- silly couple!. When we got home Leah "helped" my mom with her laundry... lol gotta love little helpers :)

Around Temple Square...

Something we try to do as a family every time we're in Utah is to go to Temple Square in SLC. Take some pictures, look at the Temple... tell our kids that mommy and daddy got married for time and all eternity in that beautiful Temple. This time was little different, Daniel is 4 years old and he understands more about things. He had some questions and got some answers... so cute. Leah was more into the water founts... she is a cute little girl. We took a quick tour to the Conference Center. It was nice to show Daniel where General Conference was while we watched in our TV back home... he said: "Mom, we watched this place on TV". We sure enjoyed all those paintings they had out there... it was just a nice day... so peaceful the only thing we could hear it was a beautiful music in the background- somebody was playing the piano.
After that we HAD to give Gpa Benites a visit. He works in Translation Department (Church Building) so we got there, told the lady who we were looking for... made a phone call and there we went... all the way up to floor 21. Daniel was excited to see Gpa Beli and the matter that Gpa works in the tallest (one of them) in SLC made it more fantastic for him. Grandpa was waiting for us there... Leah run to Gpa- she loves Gpa. My dad took as to all his co-workers offices to say hello- it was more to show off his grand kids :) but the AWESOME thing was that every time my dad said: "This is Sara and her husband Josh, the one that served in Iraq"... everybody knew Joshua Cheever... the first thing they said: "Is that him?, you're walking fine... you are a walking miracle", all of them remember each Monday (they get together for a meeting and pray for people at work) they always mentioned Josh's name... those prayers did work... :)
We sure had a great day in Temple Square... it is growing and we are sure that when we go back again it will be something new to visit... a new experience... a new memory.
Here are some pictures from today... enjoy!

Fun weekend... our vacation

This past weekend has been so awesome. My sisters and their families came to my parents house to celebrate birthdays of the month, have fun and of course lets not forget the yummy food. We had so much. We laughed until our cheeks hurt... well it is normal in my family to do that!, but hey laughing for 15 minutes a day you burn between 10 and 40 calories... so lets start going HAHAHAHAHA... :):)
In this weekend we also find out that two of my sisters are expecting babies, Lisa and Maria, so the family is growing and growing... Congratulations Maria and Lisa... we're happy for them.
While we were having a great time with my parents, my sisters & husbands. The kids were going wild!. They had a great time playing together. Daniel hasn't seen all the Neyra's and Jones' since last summer for our Family Reunion, living in WA it is little hard for our kids to play with their cousins, but when we are together we made sure they have a good time together. Leah loves to help Gma Bertha in the kitchen...
For the birthday people. I made a cake for each of them. All different themes but it was awesome to make cakes for all. Alisha joined us in the party, she is Avery's sister but we call her: "sister from another mother", she is part of the family :)
After eating yummy food and talking we started playing a new game Josh and I got. SO FUN!!! even my parents played!. The girls won- of course, we are good at acting :P
Anyway enjoy the pictures. I have one crazy family s0 - Rule # 77 in life: "Everyone seems normal until you get to know them"

Everything started 5 years ago...

Joshua and I met online, LDS website, after chatting for a month we decide to go on our first date. Valentine's Day. It was the perfect date :) He proposed to me on a Saturday night, it was cold, we went to the Bountiful Temple. Then we started our engagement through letters- he left to Basic Training - ARMY. We got married in the Salt Lake City Temple on October 16, 2001, one of the best day of my life. We've been in so many different part of the country. From Utah to TN, KY, WA State, DC, and more. We owned our first house in our first 2 years of marriage. We have to wonderful kids that brighten our lives with their silliness! and we have spent quite a few months apart from each other, we have gone thru hard times, but we made it together. I never thought all this excitement was going to happen with a simple "YES" from that Saturday night but we SURE love our life together. I couldn't ask for more. Joshua is my prince and I know we will be together forever!
I'm so blessed to have a husband, best friend & father of my kids who is so loving, super calm, happy, helps around the house and the kids, honest, patience, hard worker, makes me feel loved... I can just go on and on... he is my HERO. I look forward for many more years with him. I just LOVE this guy, he is my better half, he is my everything!

For a treat, we are going to our "Getaway", thanks to my mom that is watching the kids for us. We will have so much fun!.

The Perfect GetAway!

We stayed at NewPark Resort in Park City, it was a nice hotel room that Joshua got for us.

It was like our own little apartment :)

The bathroom was bigger than the kids toy room back home... the tub!!! oh my... I wish I had one just like that in my bathroom... and the hot tub... wonderful time!!!
